Novis vs RemNote
RemNote is a strong app: notes and flashcards in one outliner, PDF annotation, Anki import and export, and its own exam scheduler. If you take your notes in RemNote, it is hard to beat. Novis starts from the files you already have, your slides and PDFs, and grades your explanations against the source each card came from.
Pick RemNote if
- You want to take notes and make flashcards in the same outliner.
- You annotate PDFs heavily, or want a Mac, Linux or Android app.
- You want Anki import that keeps your full review history.
Pick Novis if
- You already have your notes as slides, PDFs and Word files and want cards made from them.
- You want FSRS as the default scheduler, not an opt-in beta.
- You want your explanations graded against the lecture file a card came from, not only the card.
